Description
Job Summary
The Parts Specialist is responsible for selling, sourcing, and managing spare and replacement parts for multiple product lines. This role assists customers with parts identification, order fulfillment, inventory management, pricing, and product support while ensuring excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Identify replacement parts using catalogs, computer systems, and technical resources.
Determine required parts based on customer requests, equipment inspections, and descriptions of malfunctions.
Receive and process telephone and customer orders.
Fill customer orders from available inventory.
Prepare sales slips, sales contracts, and quotations.
Process payments and obtain credit authorizations.
Maintain inventory records and conduct stock counts.
Recommend substitute parts when exact replacements are unavailable.
Process returns, exchanges, and refunds for defective parts.
Organize, label, and store inventory according to established procedures.
Provide customers with information regarding product features, usage, and functionality.
Demonstrate equipment and explain operation when required.
Place new merchandise on display.
Measure parts and verify specifications using precision measuring tools.
Assist with repair of parts or equipment when necessary.
Prepare pricing and sales quotations for multi-part orders.
Requirements
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
2–4 years of related parts, inventory, sales, or customer service experience.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to accurately process orders and inventory transactions.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to understand technical parts information and equipment specifications.
Preferred Skills
Experience with inventory management systems.
Oracle experience preferred.
Knowledge of mechanical equipment, vehicle parts, or industrial equipment.
Experience preparing customer quotations and sales documentation.
Working Conditions
Work performed in a parts department and inventory storage environment.
May require working in non-climate-controlled storage areas.
Frequent interaction with customers, vendors, and service personnel.
