Position Summary
Luna Community College is seeking an instructor to deliver a 46 – 50-hour entry-level micro-credential course focused on foundational wind technician skills. This micro-credential course was developed by the Clean Power Institute, in partnership with Pattern Energy, to make pathways for wind technician jobs more accessible to New Mexicans. It teaches students about site safety, pre-work planning, inspection and cleaning, lubrication and filter swaps, torque and tensioning, and a capstone assessment. Curriculum and supporting instructional materials have been developed and will be provided to the instructor.
The course will be offered in-person at LCC in Summer 2026. Course scheduling is flexible and may be delivered over weekends or consecutive days/weeks, depending on instructor availability and learner needs. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Applicants do not need to be based in New Mexico.
This position is contractbased.

Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
Deliver engaging, high-impact instruction that prepares students to become entry-level wind technicians.
Reinforce safety practices while leading handson maintenance tasks.
Assess learner performance using provided assessments, practical evaluations, and capstone scenarios.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Facilitate classroom instruction, demonstrations, and handson practical exercises
Strong verbal communication and pedagogical skills.
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and adapt the pacing and instructional approach to student needs.
Education, Experience & Licenses
2–4 years of experience teaching entrylevel wind technician topics and/or working as a wind turbine technician in the field.
Handson experience with wind turbine maintenance tasks (inspection, lubrication, basic torque, or related maintenance tasks) and safety practices (LOTO, PPE, hazard analysis).
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching or instructional experience at a community college, technical school, or workforce training program
Familiarity with OSHA standards, safety frameworks
Employment Terms
Contractor Status: The employee will be classified as an independent contractor and issued a 1099.
