Description
Through our Prepaid Legal Services program, the firm provides free legal services to eligible members of UNITEHERE Local 1 and Local 450 in matters such as immigration, divorce, traffic, bankruptcy, and real estate. Since 2019, we’ve successfully completed over 5,600 cases for our Prepaid Legal clients, underscoring our commitment to serving a diverse community who could otherwise not afford legal services.
Role Description
We are seeking a full-time attorney to join our Prepaid Legal team. In this role, you will work directly with clients to assess their legal needs, draft and review legal documents, and handle litigation across a variety of cases. Key Responsibilities
Prepare pleadings, notices, and subpoenas.
Conduct legal research to support case strategy and client advisement.
Coordinate, draft, respond to, and file documents.
Analyze client issues and advise on appropriate remedies and legal strategies.
Communicate and collaborate with senior attorneys to ensure cases are handled professionally and efficiently.
Represent clients while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Member of the Illinois Bar, in good standing.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal practice.
Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong client service orientation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
