- Therapeutic Recreation Intern
Description
Join the dynamic team at Beacon Hill Health Center to work with geriatric population in higher levels of living including short term rehab, skilled nursing, and memory care. Our team hosts a variety of leisure opportunities for residents including pet therapy, therapeutic music, cooking club, physical games, community outings, gardening, social events, and much more. During this internship, students will learn documentation, MDS, admissions, group leading, calendar creating, how to work with an interdisciplinary team, team management, in-services, budgeting, and care plan meetings. All areas of NCTRC requirements met at this facility.
Lifestyle supervisor has MANY years of experience mentoring Therapeutic Recreation students using the APIED process. Supervisor has CTRS, Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), and Senior Care Music Therapist (SCMT).
Requirements
Interns must have a desire to work with geriatric population.
Illinois Department of Public Health requires TB test, background check, finger printing, and drug test for this position. These are provided at no cost to the intern prior to first day of internship.
Monday-Friday availability with one weekend day per month.
