Guardian Veterinary Specialists is the only privately-owned, 29,000 sq. ft., 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital located in upper Westchester County, NY, one hour north of New York City.

We are looking to offer an exciting and unique opportunity for post Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine graduates looking to gain more real world and hands on experience under the supervision and guidance of seasoned and talented professionals in the field.  This is a rolling paid internship program where you can do a rotation with our specialists or work with just one, learning and working with the best.   This is not your standard July to July internship; you can start it at any time of the year and stay with us, growing and learning for 6 months up to however long you would like to call GVS your home. If you like your experience with us you can possibly stay and join our team of talented Veterinarian’s.

GVS is comprised of motivated team players dedicated to practicing the highest quality medicine to join our group of exceptionally talented specialists and veterinary support staff. Our specialty departments include critical care; surgery (soft tissue, orthopedics, laparoscopy); neurology/neurosurgery; oncology; ophthalmology; cardiology; and rehabilitation. Imaging/diagnostics include MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and ultrasound. Emergency doctors greatly benefit from superior support and input from our specialty departments.

Qualified applicants for this role:

• Love of animals and a passion to help and heal, first and foremost
• Graduate of a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine program
• The desire to continually learn and grow
• Ideally, previous experience with small and large animals
• Great communication skills as our veterinarians are communicating with our fur-parents for updates
• Must be open to working overnights
