About Our Internships
Tyndale Internships are designed for college students wanting to explore a career in the Christian Publishing industry. You will get to engage with other interns across various departments, attend training workshops, and participate in group projects designed to build professional skills.
Important Details
- Interviews for this opening will start in December 2025.
- Internships will start in May 2026, and generally go through the summer but can have flexible scheduling.
- The expected hourly range for this position is $17 per hour.
- The expected schedule is 40 hours per week, on-site.
Print and Digital Typesetting Intern
Are you passionate about making books and Bibles beautiful and accessible to everyone? Join our team as the Print and Digital Typesetting Intern and play a key role in creating and improving our products. In this role you will participate in the design of print and eBook interiors.
For print products, you will partner with Typesetters and Interior Layout and Design Specialists to facilitate the proofreading and interior composition process, helping to create book and Bible interiors that provide a beautiful and seamless reading experience for our customers. You will also help ensure file consistency standards are met to maintain files suitable for reprint and digital development.
For digital products, you will translate the print design into a responsive eBook format. You will conform our titles to the latest professional accessibility standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), ensuring that our life-changing books are available to the broadest possible audience.
You will benefit from training in the industry-standard technologies for print (Adobe Creative Suite) and digital (EPUB) publication. This broad perspective will develop your versatility across the publishing process, while making a meaningful impact on equity and inclusion. Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and applying the aesthetic of a book cover to a book interior, and learn the typesetting skills necessary to prepare interiors
- Apply text corrections and design updates to pages as requested
- Output page proofs and InCopy files in accordance with Editorial proofreading requirements
- Prepare, preflight, and check final print-ready PDF files
- Evaluate digital products against the latest professional standards (WCAG)
- Improve accessibility by adding semantic tagging and image descriptions
- Certify accurate descriptions of accessibility levels and features for discoverability
Requirements
- A love of books, details, and puzzles
- Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills
- Familiarity with HTML
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and/or EPUB a big plus
- Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God’s Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith.
