The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Neurology Department:
The Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) was established in 1973. It has a long-standing history and tradition in the practice and advancement of Clinical Neurosciences by providing the most comprehensive care to patients with neurologic illnesses from Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, brain tumors, Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune disorders, stroke as well as other acute neurologic injuries. The department also has a robust laboratory research program that is particularly focused at advancing our knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders. In addition, UTMB has a highly regarded, fully ACGME-accredited neurology residency training and several other fellowship training programs.
Neuro-Oncologist Faculty - The Department of Neurology at UTMB seeks a Fellowship-trained Neuro-Oncologist who will play an important role in the growth of our Neuro-Oncology program. Patients in this program will work with a collaborative team of cancer specialists, including general oncologists, neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, neurointerventional radiologists and others who focus on brain and spine tumors for comprehensive management of neuro-oncological patients. The program also includes a multidisciplinary team of nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, social workers, and other skilled caregivers.
Candidate Requirements:
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neurology.
- Completion of Neuro-Oncology Fellowship.
- A strong commitment to patient care, medical student, resident and fellow education.
- Participation in research and scholarly activities.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted state of Texas Medical License.
