Title: Legal Assistant
Reports to: Law Firm Attorneys
Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Summary of Position:
The Assistant will work with attorneys to prepare, research, and analyze various legal documents.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain attorney calendars and schedules, schedule meetings, answer calls, and emails.
- Track court orders and calendar management for multiple attorneys.
- Maintain excellent organization of filings both electronically and physically.
- Submit filings as requested into the Odyssey electronic court filing system.
- Provide administrative assistance.
- Schedule court reporters for depositions.
- Database management of all relevant documents/files.
- Provide support to multiple attorneys through all litigation phases.
- Interact with clients in person, over the phone, and through email.
- Assist attorneys with discovery management discovery production.
- Create Inventories for file management.
- Any other duties assigned by management.

Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- At least 5 years of experience
- Some experience in domestic relations is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detailed oriented
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Excellent organization and project management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Language Skills
Ability to clearly and effectively present information and respond to questions from attorneys, clients, and peers, in English, in person, over telephone and in writing.
Computer Skills
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Odyssey
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and see. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift, push, or move up to 15 pounds.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Compensation
The compensation is commensurate with experience and competitive for the Chicagoland market.
